Entries open on Monday 2 August - pre register now.
Entries for past entrants and pre-registered runners for the 2011 Edinburgh Marathon Running Festival will open on Monday 2 August. Entries for the general public will open on 1st September. The marathon festival will take place on the weekend of 21st and 22nd May 2010. To pre register for 2011 simply create an account on My Details and visit 'Upcoming Events' and pre register. Kilomathon Scotland & Mini Kilomathon - Earlybird entries extended
If you enjoyed the Marathon or Scottish Half marathon then why not try a new race distance of 26.2 Kilometres at the Kilomathon Scotland. The Kilomathon Scotland starts and finishes in the Royal Highland Centre and goes over the spectacular Forth Road Bridge and takes place on 3rd October.

The Mini Kilomathon takes place over 2.62 km and is open to runners from 9yrs to 17yrs. The mini Kilomathon will be fully chip timed and runners get the same benefits as the full Kilomathon with goody bag, finishers t-shirt and great medal.

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival in association with Oxfam
We are very excited that one of the world’s most renowned charities, which fights poverty worldwide, has added Scotland’s biggest marathon to its portfolio, a measure of our event’s growth in recent years.

For the next three years Oxfam will become the principal charity partner for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Oxfam will have over 500 people running and they would love you to join them in 2011.

Its Official - Edinburgh is the Fastest Marathon in the UK
The May edition of Runner's World magazine carried out extensive research into which of the 10 most popular marathons for UK runners were the fastest. A single comparison (like average time) could skew the results so Runner’s World used 200 different comparisons to establish which was the fastest marathon and the Edinburgh Marathon came out as the fastest marathon in the UK.

We were also rated as the best race of any distance in Scotland in the February edition of Runner’s World magazine. It just goes to prove yet again that the Edinburgh Marathon is a must for anyone looking for a PB or just looking for a great race.

Big Fun Run
The Big Fun Runs are great events to introduce your friends and family to running. They are 5km long and staged in scenic parks so are a friendly and safe running environment amongst likeminded people. With 25 events nationwide there is sure to be a local event near you.
