• Every minute of every day 100,000 people in Scotland struggle to breathe because of chronic chest illness. • Every 45 minutes someone in Scotland will have a heart attack. • Every 45 minutes someone in Scotland will have a stroke.
Every pound you raise will stay in Scotland!
Research, Diagnosis & Cure We invest over £1 million each year in medical research and funding innovative clinical research trials which focus on the real needs of those surviving, living with or losing a loved one to these devastating illnesses.
Support, Understanding & Care We provide a lifeline for those in Scotland who are isolated, fearful or anxious about their condition; through the listening ear of our AdviceLine, Volunteer Befrienders, Chest, Heart or Stroke groups and providing financial assistance through our welfaregrants. We are also the sole Scottish charity providing a network of dedicated communication support services to those with a communication difficulty following a stroke
Influence, Education & Action We enable those living with chest, heart and stroke illness in Scotland to influence their local NHS services and campaign on the crucial issues that affect them. Our Voices Scotland programme gives them the powerful voice they need.
If these aren’t reasons enough to join our runners and help fight for Scotland’s health, then do it for the challenge, do it for the novelty, do it for the respect, do it for yourself. Join the Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland Happy Feet team now and help us beat Scotland's biggest killers.
There are two ways you can join our team, either as a Charity Assured Place, where you pay the charity a registration donation and pledge to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship or as an Own Entry Runner. All runners are valuable to us, so if you chose to run as a Charity Assured Place or as an Own Entry runner, you can be sure that you are helping in the fight against chest, heart and stroke illness.
Together we can beat chest, heart and stroke illness in Scotland
