Group Race Crew Roles

The following is a detailed list of opportunities for groups to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival:

Course Crew (requires a Sector Leader and Course Marshals)
A Section Leader and their marshals will be responsible for their section of the course  (just over 3 miles in length). The Sector Leader is a very important role and candidates must be fit, have a bicycle and be able to lead and show initiative on race day. You must be prepared to walk your section with a Course Manager before the event, be prepared to attend Section Leaders meetings and help set up your sector on race day.

Start Crew
Provide a team of at least 10 over the age of 16 to work within the start area in Edinburgh on Sunday 27 May. Your crew will assist runners at the start area. You will be briefed with key messages to encourage and to provide direction and support for runners.

Finish Crew
Provide a team of at least 10 over 16 years of age to work within the finish area in Musselburgh on Sunday 27 May. There are a variety of roles which will be assigned on event day including helping in the finish funnels, finish straight and roaming within the finish area.

5k /10k Finish Funnel Crew (Requires a Leader and Crew)
Provide a team of  10 over 16 years of age to work within the finish funnels on Saturday 26th May There are a variety of roles which will be assigned on event day including setting up the finish funnels,  handing out water, medals and goody bags.  The Leader will be required to coordinate and instruct their crew to successfully set up, operate and clean up the area. As the Leader you will act as the first point of contact for your crew.

Start/Finish Crew
We are looking for a team of at least 10 over 16 years of age to help at the start/finish line on Saturday 26 May in Holyrood Park. Your team would assist runners as they start and finish their races. 

Hydration Crew (requires a Leader and Crew)
The would suit a group of at least 20 people over 16 years of age. The Leader will be required to coordinate and instruct their crew to successfully set up, operate and clean up their assigned Hydration Station. As the Leader you will act as the first point fo contact for your crew. You must be available to attend the mandatory evening training/briefing session prior to event day.

Relay Crew
We are looking for a team of at least 10 over 16 years of age to help at the Relay Changeover Areas on Sunday 27 May. Your team will help relay runners in these areas.
