The 2010 Hairy Haggis Team Relay is a 4 stage event which will require the team captain to be responsible for all the runners in their team. The captain is the sole contact for the team so it is down to them to pass on all information.

It is important that the team captain, or a nominated representative, is computer literate as all correspondence, including final race instructions, will be via email.

1. Entering the race as a 'Hairy Haggis' Team Relay captain
There are two ways to enter the hairy Haggis Team Relay:

You can pay £100 per team and enter.
You can enter via a guaranteed charity place. If you take a charity place you do not have to pay an entry fee but will be required to raise funds for that charity. This requires the captain to register their interest with a charity.

2. Updating details or adding / changing team members
When entering the team relay event it is only the team captain's details that will be asked for initially. After the team captain's details have been entered on to the Edinburgh Marathon entry system the Team Captain will receive an email confirming the entry. The Team Captain can then change their contact details and add / alter those of the team members, by logging back in to their account from the home page of the website (Log In) If a runner withdraws the captain is responsible for replacing them.

3. Race day preparations
Team captains will be posted the race pack in May 2010. The pack includes race numbers for all members of the team (to attach to the front of a running vest), the timing device and any bus tickets that have been purchased for the team.

4. Charity 'Hairy Haggis' Team Relay

Captains of relay teams must liaise with the charity regarding fundraising. They are the sole contact for the charity and so the fundraising obligation is their responsibility, although, obviously, the team should give full support in this.

5. Change of Team Captain
If any team has to change its captain it is vital that the changes are notified to the organisers, GSi Events Ltd., as soon as possible and to the relevant charity. Failure to do this could result in the exclusion of the team from the race.
