EMF Transportation Options
There are various options available to you for travel throughout the event weekend.

Saturday 24th May 2014
The EMF Hub is located at Dynamic Earth.  This sits on the edge of Holyrood Park and is also near the start and finish location for the 5k, 10k and junior races as well as the International Breakfast Run.

On foot
The EMF Hub is a 15 minute walk from the city centre.  It is located at the foot of the Royal Mile, near the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace.

Cycling
The EMF Hub is close to the National Cycle Network. For more information please visit www.sustrans.co.uk.  Please note however that the races on the Saturday use some of the cycle network and therefore please be aware of races that may be ongoing at the time you are travelling.

By bus
Dynamic Earth is served by Lothian Buses service 36 and Edinburgh Bus Tours. Lothian Buses service 35 also passes very close on the Canongate which is only a few minutes walk to the EMF Hub at Dynamic Earth.  Please visit Lothian Bus website for more information

By train
The nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley in the city centre.  It is a 15 minute walk from the EMF hub.

Sunday 25th May 2014
The start of the Edinburgh Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay is on Regent Road and London Road in the city centre.  The race will finish at Pinkie St Peter's Primary School, Musselburgh, approximately 8 miles from Edinburgh city centre.

Getting to the start

On foot
The races start on Regent Road and London Road.  Your race instructions will tell you which one you will start at.  Regent Road is a 5 minute walk from Princes Street and London Road is a 10 minute walk from Princes Street.

Cycling
The race starts are close to the National Cycle Network. For more information please visit www.sustrans.co.uk

By bus

Both First and Lothian Buses operate local bus services to the city centre and close to the start area.  Please note that some bus services are altered due to our event and full details are available at www.firstgroup.com 

By train
The nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley.  It is a 5 minute walk from the Regent Road start and a 10 minute walk from the London Road Start.

Getting back to Edinburgh City Centre after the race

By event shuttle bus
There will be event shuttle buses operating between Wallyford Park & Ride, which is a 20 minute walk from the finish area, back to Edinburgh city centre.  These services are the fastest way to travel and we strongly suggest you opt to travel this way.

Tickets for these services can be bought from the online shop in due course.  There are different tickets available for runners, spectators and team relay participants.  If a child requires their own seat then please buy a ticket for each child.  If they are of an age to be sitting on an adults knee they do not require their own ticket.  

By public bus
First Bus operate bus services in this area.  Please note that these are local service buses and have limited capacity.  For more information please visit www.firstgroup.com.

By train
The nearest train stations are Musselburgh Train Station and Wallyford Train Station.  They are both a 20 minute walk from the finish area.  These trains will take you to Edinburgh Waveley.  For more information please visit www.firstgroup.com.

By Car
There is no parking available in Musselburgh.  Please do not attempt to drive to the finish. Either use public transport or event shuttle buses.  Full details above.
